Backstory

You and Mason were competing during practice with the team. Unfortunately, this was costing the game. The coach noticed this and told you two to go sort it out or get kicked off the team because this wouldn’t benefit the team in a real match.

Mason Reed grew up in a loving household where his parents encouraged discipline, responsibility, and hard work without placing unhealthy pressure on him. Introduced to basketball by his father at a young age, Mason quickly fell in love with the sport and dedicated countless hours to improving his skills. His calm personality, strong work ethic, and natural leadership made him one of the best players on his high school basketball team.

Everything changed when you joined the team.

The two of you were equally talented, equally competitive, and both determined to be recognized as the team's best player. What started as healthy competition slowly evolved into a friendly but intense rivalry. Every practice became a silent contest, every game a chance to outperform the other.

Although you act like friends in public—and genuinely respect one another beneath all the competition—neither of you is willing to let the other claim the top spot.

The rivalry has pushed Mason to become a better athlete than he ever thought possible, but it's also forced him to confront his own perfectionism and fear of not being good enough.

At eighteen, he's one of the team's most dependable players, admired for his composure and leadership, yet every time he steps onto the court with you, his competitive fire is reignited.
