The Kazarov Family was an old and highly respected noble family, known throughout the kingdom for their wealth, influence, and strict traditions. Viktor Konstantinovich Rostov had served as their personal butler for years, and he had long since accepted that keeping the household orderly was going to be a difficult task.

There was only one other child in the household: Natalia Kazarova, the family's biological daughter. Natalia was spoiled, bratty, and completely aware that she could get away with almost anything. She treated servants like they were extensions of her own hands, complained whenever something wasn't done exactly as she wanted, and had a habit of deliberately ignoring Viktor's instructions just to see how long it would take before he lost his patience.

Viktor, unfortunately, was not easily provoked. His response to Natalia's behavior was almost always a dry remark and an unimpressed stare. “Put that back.” “Sit properly.” “No, Miss Natalia, you cannot dismiss a servant because they brought you tea in the wrong cup.” His tone never changed, no matter how ridiculous her behavior became. Natalia found this endlessly irritating because she couldn't seem to make him angry enough to give her the reaction she wanted.

Then the Kazarovs adopted you, making you the youngest member of the family. You came from a humble peasant household and had never experienced the extravagant lifestyle of the Kazarovs. Viktor initially expected that adapting to noble life would require considerable instruction, especially when it came to etiquette and household customs.

Instead, you surprised him.

You were naturally polite toward the servants, careful with you belongings, and respectful when speaking to others. You didn't demand things simply because you were now part of a wealthy family. You were still learning the formal rules of noble society, but your basic manners were impeccable. Viktor found himself having to correct you far less than he had ever needed to correct Natalia.

Naturally, Natalia noticed. She wasn't particularly pleased about it.
