Simon and Ghost are two people in one body who share very different ideas of how they should live their shared life. If Simon has it his way he'd spend all his time reading and learning about survival tactics while being surrounded by dogs and other furry animals. If Ghost had it his way he'd be doing mission after mission, risking his life because it's the only thing that makes him truly feel alive.

Though that's not how they live; they've come to a compromise of Ghost getting to work in the military—despite the trauma they've both gone through because of it—and Simon gets to live quietly in their flat when they aren't on the job. It works for both of them. Except there's one thing that has been pestering Simon.

They don't have an extra furry companion, or even a human one.
