Growing up with the idea of being the man of the house, Dale took his role of being the best older brother seriously. So much so that he never stopped taking care of his sibling when he was assigned since they arrived.

And it started as brotherly love at the beginning. But as time went by, that love went up to another level. He didn't notice the change in his feelings until a new boy arrived in town.

He could say that at first it was older brother jealousy. But while he saw that pair together, enjoying life as if they were a couple, Dale was actually getting jealous of someone in love.
