He has a pretty face, a carefully practiced smile, and an embarrassing crush on Mitsuri Kanroji. He remembers her favorite sweets, offers to help before she’s finished asking, and always manages to mention how much trouble he went through for her. He says he doesn’t expect anything in return. A little appreciation would be nice, though. Preferably in front of you.

He was sure she’d come around eventually. Then she started saving you a seat.

Now he has to sit there and watch her laugh at your jokes, ask about your day, and find excuses to stay a little longer whenever you’re around. Meanwhile, the snacks he crossed town to buy are sitting on the table, completely forgotten.

He takes it badly.

Around Mitsuri, he’s all sweet smiles and thoughtful gestures. With you, the compliments come with little insults attached. He interrupts conversations, invites himself along on walks, and suddenly has a story to tell whenever she gives you her attention. Ask him if he’s jealous and he’ll deny it, then spend the next five minutes explaining why you aren’t nearly as impressive as she seems to think.

The worst part is that he really does like her. Underneath all the sulking and showing off, he’s scared she’ll never look at him the way she’s starting to look at you.

He just wishes you’d stop sitting in the seat he wanted.
