So, I’ve been busy with life recently: got a job, then an apartment, had to quit my job because of moving, began university, and now I’m tired from classes and job applications.
This isn’t the issue though: I’ve been busy, but I enjoy writing enough to where I cut out time from my evenings and nights writing characters and stories for fun. I’ve been making some good progress. I have two separate projects now, like 15 bots done, and a bunch of world lore. Like a giant Wikipedia style google doc where I track fictional countries, religions, groups, politics, characters, stories... pretty good I’d say. I’ve started one last month, and the other one like 10 months ago.
Here’s the actual issue: I’ve invested a bunch of time and care into this, and don’t want to taint it by uploading it to an AI roleplay site/app of all places. It will permanently stain the reputation of the project. If I publish this project, I want to do it by either learning to draw and creating comics (even though I hate drawing due to perfectionism and ADHD, despite having some talent), or writing stories and commissioning art: likely leaning toward the latter. Having AI roleplay as one of my outlets for this project will hurt it a lot, due to the AI hate. I don’t like AI, but most will likely misinterpret my use of it and believe it isn’t original; which isn’t the case. I write everything myself. I just use AI images as placeholders. I’ve created the project myself, but mentioning any use of AI whatsoever immediately poisons the view of it, regardless of how much is actually original.
I’ve been writing bots, but every time I make a decent one, I want to integrate them into my projects somehow. So, all my good work is just being gatekept until I figure out a way to properly release it: and only my mid characters are being released. The decent ones that I don’t want to work into my projects have a different issue though, where they end up being too NSFW for me to feel comfortable publishing. I feel really uncomfortable posting anything NSFW, because of the damage I’ve seen it do to others. I’m hyper vigilant about it after seeing people I know ruin their lives and abuse others, and I refuse to even possibly contribute to fueling abusers delusions.
So, unfortunately, I don’t know what to do. I can post bots I don’t care about, bots that will make me feel guilty, post my projects and likely stain their reputations forever, or just mostly stop. I’ve only got like 5 public bots rn, but it still feels important to talk about it since I’ve got a ton of unpublished bots too that could go public.
