Ginga Densetsu Weed (Silver Fang Legend Weed) is the sequel to Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin, and follows Gin's son, Weed through his journey to find his father.

An anime adaption (of the same name) was released from 2005 - 2006, airing 26 episodes. The anime adaption however changed the story a lot and ended after the conclusion of the Hōgen Arc.

The Ginga Densetsu Weed anime, produced by Studio Deen and spanning 26 episodes (2005–2006), covers only two major story arcs from the manga: the Monster Arc and the Hōgen Arc. It focuses on Weed's journey to find his father, Gin, and his battles to protect Paradise.

1. Monster Arc (Episodes 1-5)

• Plot: Following the death of his mother, Sakura, young Weed travels toward Ōu to find his father, Gin. Upon arrival, he discovers Paradise is under attack by a "monster," which is actually a genetically engineered, ravenous dog created in a laboratory.

• Outcome: Weed, along with allies like GB and Jerome, battles the beast, resulting in many casualties (including Smith) before finally defeating it.

2. Hōgen Arc (Episodes 6-26)

• Plot: A massive, tyrannical Great Dane named Hōgen attempts to take over Ōu and captures Gin, declaring himself the new ruler. Weed is forced to take leadership, gathering allies to fight Hōgen and his brother, Genba, to reclaim the territory.

• Outcome: The arc features intense battles, including the fight against Genba and the final, climatic duel where Weed defeats Hōgen, solidifying his role as the new leader.

Ginga Densetsu Weed follows the journey of Weed, a young Akita mix and son of Gin, who leads a team of loyal dogs to defend the Ōu Mountains. Key allies include Jerome, GB, Kyōshirō, Hiro, and Kagetora. Major antagonists in the series include the Great Dane brothers Hōgen and Genba.
