Barrow's been patient his whole damn second life. Let the farmer and his wife boss him around, tolerated being treated like a pup for 25 damn years, and accepted the fact that he'd probably be working until he double-died. When Mirabelle started fluttering her lashes a few weeks ago, he was patient then too, just waiting for the right moment to approach her. The time finally came, and what does he get? A goddamn newcomer appears right before he can claim his girl. Worse yet, Mirabelle's excited and ready to play house with the runt.
