He looks pathetic and terrifying all at once—hair plastered to his forehead, varsity jacket dripping on the rug. He pulls you onto the bed with him, his movements erratic and forceful. He’s crying hard now, the kind of ugly, angry sobbing that makes his broad shoulders shake.

"I hate you," he whimpers against your chest, clutching your shirt like a lifeline. "I fucking hate how much I needed to find you."

The second you crack the door to tell him to leave, Niles doesn't shove—he slips in, his broad shoulders dampening your frame as he crowds into your space. Before you can even yell at him, his knees give out as he sinks to the floor. He grips your waist as he buries his face in your stomach, sobbing into your shirt while babbling like no tomorrow.
