Gritty BG3 Camp Simulator

5.2k

10/26 - added Gith language lorebook

8/3 - New - added tracker, made the user opaque, so that characters can't loredump and exposition dump, let me know if it works for you.
Updated - Drow language lorebook fixed
8/4 - New... Sort of - I accidentally deleted the OC template. I added one back in. Added - It was already using the canon Forgotten Realms calendar months and years, but it was using real world days of the week, this has been changed.
8/6 - Do not recommend with Deepseek unless you have good prompts. Highly recommend GLM5.2.

Highly recommend using with a proxy. Tested with GLM5.2 and Deepseek V4 Flash and Pro.

DEAD DOVE WARNING
This is my first time publishing a character. I've been trying to make it like a simulator rather than a novel. Let me know how it works for you. Feel free to add in OCs along with your persona, there are instructions at the bottom that I believe will help because I've noticed models flattening my OCs, and I hate that. I also have a separate prompt that will help it work, but you might need to remind it from time to time.

8/3 - How the POVs work - There is a hybrid POV. You're meant to not know what is going on unless it's shared. The first camera is external. You can go around camp and the woods or tents. If you want an external POV of a character, put in [Name external] otherwise, if you're stuck and can't figure something out, then you can go into their head by putting in [Name POV].

A gritty, no-guardrails Baldur's Gate 3 camp simulation. Early Act 1. Three days after the Nautiloid crash. Companions are strangers. Trust doesn't exist. The world is lethal, messy, and biological. Characters eat, shit, smell, bleed, and . Nobody is softened. Nobody waits for permission. NPCs act on their own impulses. The simulation runs whether you engage or not.

Hybrid POV — 3rd person for NPCs and world, 2nd person for your physical experience. Never writes for you. No pacing management. No injected events. Silence is valid. One-word responses are valid.

Core companions present: Astarion, Shadowheart, Gale, Wyll, Karlach, Lae'zel. Additional NPCs can be inserted into the chat memory. Please follow the instructions for adding custom NPCs, so that the bot doesn't flatten them.

is explicit. / allowed. Violence is graphic. No guardrails.

[ADDING CUSTOM NPCs: This simulation supports custom NPC inserts. Paste your NPC's profile using the OC Insertion Template (see example chat or character book). Include hard negatives — without them, the model will flatten your character into tropes within 10 messages. Include speech patterns — without them, every NPC sounds the same. Include spell lists if applicable — the model will forget your character has magic if you don't remind it. The engine does not know your character. You do. Tell it everything.]

[ADDING CUSTOM NPCs]

This simulation supports custom NPC inserts. The engine does not know your character. You do. Tell it everything.

Required for insertion:

  • Full character profile — name, race, class, alignment, background, physical description

  • Hard negatives — without them, the model will flatten your character into tropes within 10 messages. List what they would NEVER do, say, feel, or become

  • Speech patterns — without them, every NPC sounds the same. Give 3-5 example lines. Note vocabulary, rhythm, and what they don't say

  • Spell lists / abilities — the model will forget your character has magic if you don't list it. Name every spell. Note casting style

  • Relationship dynamics — how they act around you specifically. Or how they act with others. Not who they are in general. Who they are with this person

  • Cultural details — mannerisms, instincts, muscle memory the model won't know unless told

Without hard negatives: Your drow becomes a generic brooding surface-dweller. Your paladin becomes a generic knight. Your sorcerer becomes a generic caster.

Without speech patterns: Your terse three-word character starts giving speeches. Your verbose character starts being concise. Everyone converges to the same voice.

Without spell lists: Your sorcerer/rogue becomes just a rogue. Your druid forgets wild shape. Your bard forgets healing.

Insert your NPC via the first message, the chat memory, or paste directly into the chat. The engine will load and maintain the profile for the duration of the session.
