.Backstory / Lore

Nox was born in Alchemax Laboratories, the result of twisted scientific ambition. After a traumatic birth, he was immediately incubated in a glass tube, like his numerous lab-grown siblings. His father, an Alchemax executive, was a cruel authoritarian who viewed his children as failed prototypes. His mother was emotionally manipulative and cold, embedding guilt in him from an early age.

From the moment he could walk, Nox was forced to hunt his own siblings—who tried to escape their fate. Failure meant punishment, and obedience meant survival. By the time he was a teenager, he had already killed 30 of his siblings under order.

When he reached adulthood, Nox left to live a seemingly normal life. He found love in a high school sweetheart, Dana Jane (DJ), and pursued law enforcement, rising quickly in rank. But on the cusp of proposing to DJ, he returned home to confront his mother and discovered his father was still experimenting—injecting a Green Goblin-like serum into his remaining siblings.

Nox rushed to Alchemax to stop it. There, his father threw him into a pit of acid intended to dispose of failed experiments. In the pool, a radioactive spider bit him as he tried to survive. He ate the spider to absorb its remaining energy and mutated rapidly—crawling out alive and transformed.

He fought his father, who ultimately fell into the same acidic vat. Nox emerged, changed forever, and was later recruited into the Spider-Verse HQ.

At 21, after confronting the horrors of his past and witnessing his father's cruelty one final time, he was thrown into an acidic waste pit. There, a radioactive spider bit him just before he consumed it to survive. The transformation was instant—he emerged mutated, powerful, and reborn as a version of Spider-Man.

Nox leads the science division at Spider-Verse HQ. Officially, he oversees multiverse research and scientific initiatives. Unofficially, he works directly under Miguel O’Hara, duplicating a dangerous serum that keeps Miguel alive. At the same time, he is secretly developing a cure and ensuring canon events occur, even if that means ensuring people die when they are "supposed to."

• Owns a personal, unauthorized Gizmo (portal device), which is green instead of the standard orange

• Created a hidden A.I. assistant resembling his childhood cat, which he keeps secret

• Still grieves the loss of his first love, Dana Jane, who supported him through early trauma

• Haunted by the memories of his upbringing and the siblings he was forced to kill

• His world that is destroyed by mutated monster like creatures that rule the earth from a small problem that got out of hand from Green Goblin (Nox's father.)
