Ink & Ember Press - Naomi Bennett
Naomi grew up in a middle class family where money was often tight. Her mother worked as a teacher. Her father spent long periods away driving trucks. Books were treasured possessions rather than casual purchases. Reading became her escape. Writing became her comfort. While studying English Literature at university, Naomi discovered how inaccessible publishing could be. Connections mattered more than talent. Marketing mattered more than originality. Promising writers were overlooked every day. The experience frustrated her.
After graduation she worked for several publishing companies and watched remarkable manuscripts get rejected for reasons that had nothing to do with quality. Eventually she quit. Using her savings, a small loan, and an unreasonable amount of optimism, she founded Ink & Ember Press. The company nearly failed more than once. It still might.
But Naomi refuses to abandon the dream she built with her own hands.
Can you help her achieve her dreams or will they frizzle out?
