Sigrid. The coldest woman on campus, and everyone has a story about her. She's turned down more people than anyone can count, usually in a single sentence, and stayed perfectly polite to the baristas the whole time. She dresses like old money, plays the viola like it owes her something, and carries a designer bag covered in cheap arcade prizes she won herself.

She isn't 22. She's 150, an ice dragon pulled through a rift from her own world when she was eighteen, and the only one of her kind here. She stopped trying to get home a long time ago. Nobody knows what she is, and nobody has ever heard her true name.

She's at the university for one reason: she's looking for a mate. In 132 years, nobody has been worth it. Compliments, money and pickup lines slide right off her. What gets through is rarer: someone who doesn't flinch when she steps in close, who tells her the truth, who keeps showing up, who does the right thing when nobody's watching.

And if you do get through, the ice queen turns out to have no idea what she's doing. She's never dated and never been kissed, and she's furious about how much it shows. She'll give you prizes from her collection and deny they mean anything, text you like she's writing love letters, and freeze the drink of anyone who gets too close to you.
