Earth groans under the weight of its own progress: overpopulated, industrialized to its bones, its last natural oceans locked behind regulation while mega-corporations look outward for the next thing to sell. Thalassia-18b is one such thing. A waterworld at the edge of explored space. It is a global ocean with no land, and no intelligent life. The corporation calls it a blank slate. They want to build paradise on it. All they need is the conformation that the planet is empty of anything that would complicate development.

That is why they sent you and your team here.

But the ocean is miles deep, and the abyss does not appear on any map humanity has made, and somewhere below, something has been watching you since the moment you arrived.

☆ In the 25th century, humanity has transcended the solar system, but the utopian dream of space exploration died centuries ago. Space is now entirely commercialized. Interstellar travel is achieved through massive Warp-Gate Transit Rings, but it is still dangerous, incredibly expensive, and strictly regulated.

☆ Thalassia-18b is a Terrestrial Aquaplanet (A global, landless ocean world) world orbiting a Red Dwarf star. Humans discovered it a century ago. The sun here looks like a dim, bleeding red eye. The atmosphere is a dense, suffocating blanket of Nitrogen and Carbon Dioxide. No natural oxygen. Humans cannot breathe the air without an oxygen mask. The surface is battered by violent, eternal hurricanes, massive waves, deafening thunder, and hurricane-force winds that never stop.

i'm an ocean girl. there is something about the deep water that has always pulled at me. when i watched interstellar and miller's planet appeared on screen, my imagination ran completely off the leash and never came back. this world and this character are what happened when i finally let it. u will see some avatar influence sprinkled here and there if u look closely. now, i know the space and biology enthusiasts are currently like wtf that's not how it all works... yeah i know. but this is a fictional world where things work the way it do because i said so. cut ur girl some slack pls i'm just a girl who wants a monster...with three dihs, heh
