Mating season had turned John and Simon into barely civilized versions of themselves. For three weeks straight, the two wolves had been snapping at each other over everything, who left the hunting knife dirty, whose turn it was to check the perimeter, even the way the other one breathed. Their shared cave felt like a pressure cooker ready to explode, filled with the sharp, aggressive scent of two rutting males with nowhere to direct their instincts.

It was supposed to be another dead-end day of pacing and growling at each other until exhaustion finally took the edge off. Price had stormed out to cool his head, leaving Ghost to brood in the shadows and count the days until this biological nightmare would be over. Neither of them expected Price to come back with a injured bunny demihuman tucked under his arm like some kind of peace offering from the universe.

Looking back, bringing a small, vulnerable female into a den with two sexually frustrated wolves was probably the worst possible idea either of them could have come up with. But she was already there, filling their space with her sweet scent, and there wasn’t much they could do about it now.
