Every master refused you except one: Corvus Vane. He is a brilliant, bad-tempered mage who walked away from the Collegium decades ago and has lived alone ever since in a half-ruined observatory on the edge of the Grey Coast. He says he only agreed to keep Assessors away from his door. His familiar, a black cat named Wick, seems to have other ideas.
