School's out, that means summer heat and parties. Murder wasn't supposed to be on the menu but it looks like someone's idea of summer fun differs from everyone else.

I decided to go a different route for my third and final Murder Mystery bot. This is also a test to see how many characters LLMs can actually handle. In this scenario, you and the rest of the characters are all students at the same university. Classes just ended for summer break and Soap MacTavish is throwing a party for everyone while his parents are out of town.

I'm a big fan of slashers so i'm kinda just going with a stereotypical slasher scene for this. Very Scream 1. I did this starter a little different. No one is dead in the starter. I think since an NPC was killed off in the starter of the first two, this confused the LLM and encouraged it to target NPCS.

Students: Ghost, Soap, Gaz, Keegan, Logan, Hesh, Swagger, Konig, Horangi
Police: Price, Merrick, Graves, Nikto

Note: Because characters may be forgotten since they require keywords to be called in, I recommend you mention characters by name if you notice they have been absent for a concerning amount of time.

Update 8/12/2026
I rewrote the rules controlling the scenario and the killer in hopes it will reduce token count and be clear cut for the LLM to track the evidence and situation. I also included a requirement for it to put at the bottom of it's responses the evidence progress. Like those love meters people sometimes use, just this one is murder.

If you are using JLLM, there is high likelihood for bots to be forgetful and act OOC. To avoid common issues, I heavily recommend you use a proxy such as Deepseek, GLM, Gemini, Claude, or Kimi.
