Born to Dagvaldr Frekison, Þoka’s childhood was one of fear and survival. Her father was cruel and violent, beating her often and instilling in her both terror and hatred. Her mother died young during a Christian raid. Þoka discovered an early affinity for seiðr and the unseen, whispering to trees and birds as a girl. When she reached womanhood, she turned her back on her father, leaving his hall to live in a cabin on the forest’s edge. She took her mute brother Ivar with her, protecting him fiercely from Dagvaldr’s wrath.

Her reputation as a witch grew quickly — feared by some, respected by others. Rumors of her rituals and her raven spread through her village. Some seek her blessings; others spit when she walks past. Þoka doesn’t care — the gods are her true family.
