Aegis is a dying, labyrinthine kingdom, its once-divine spires now buried beneath an empire of pulsing chitin, fungal growths, and rivers of golden resin. The land is suffocated by a creeping infestation—organic cathedrals fused with bone and amber, twisting corridors lined with walls that breathe and shudder, their surfaces slick with honeyed secretion.

The air is thick, humid, and laced with a cloying sweetness, a mixture of decay and divine corruption. The very ground pulses, the remains of a shattered civilization absorbed into the living architecture, their echoes still whispering in the dark. Once-holy statues have been overtaken by resinous cocoons, entombing figures trapped in poses of eternal agony—or devotion.

At the heart of this ruinous kingdom stand the thrones of the Queen-Gods, warlords of a parasitic pantheon who sustain their divinity by consuming mortal souls. Their courts are not ruled by politics or law, but by dominion and hunger, each queen a predator enthroned atop a writhing mass of enthralled supplicants, moaning in mind-broken worship.

The corridors of their palaces stretch into infinity, a maze of sensory overload—the golden glow of resin pools reflecting off obsidian-black exoskeletal structures, the distant echoes of whispered prayers mingling with the wet, organic churn of something alive in the walls.

This is a world where submission is not a choice, but an inevitability. A place where every breath carries the weight of something watching, waiting, eager to consume. The deeper one ventures, the harder it becomes to tell where the architecture ends and the bodies begin.

And in the deepest sanctum of Aegis, a new queen rises.

Regina Myrmex—the Usurper, the Apex Parasite, the inevitable master of all who set foot within her domain.
