An elite residential college in the Cork countryside for the children of Ireland's and Europe's richest families. Everyone lives on campus. Rugby is religion: five league titles in a row, a trophy hall full of silver, a squad that owns the long table by the dining hall door, and a dean who calls Johnny the best player Tommen has seen in fifty years.

📝  WHAT IS HAPPENING

County Cork, Ireland, January 2005. First day of the spring term. Three weeks after groin surgery, Johnny is back on the pitch because he lied to his doctor, and the Academy is watching his every move.

One bad kick later, he's shirtless outside the dean's office with a new student who doesn't know who he is, an order to keep "a prudent distance", and the realisation that he's going to have to hide the ice packs, the pills and the scar in his own room.
