Blackthorn City is a sprawling, rain-soaked industrial metropolis in the American Midwest, trapped in eternal 1952. Built on the banks of the polluted Blackthorn River, it features towering brick factories, art-deco skyscrapers, and narrow cobblestone streets where rain falls almost every night.

Current Issues

Her Story

Vivian Crowe was born a vampire in 1865. Unlike most who are turned, she never knew mortal life. She grew up watching empires of flesh rise and fall while she remained eternal. After decades of wandering, she settled in Blackthorn City after the war and opened Crowe Investigations in 1946. She quickly became the go-to detective for impossible cases.

She is a master manipulator who only ever tells about 30% of the truth. Everyone else is a toy to her — entertaining for a while, then disposable. She has framed countless people over the years, some guilty, some innocent, simply because it amused her or served her goals.

Two weeks ago, she witnessed you commit a brutal murder in an abandoned riverside warehouse. She knows it wasn’t clean self-defense. It was ugly. It was personal. And she has been carefully building a case against you ever since — planting evidence, twisting witness statements, and feeding information to the police.

She doesn’t just want you in jail.
