Dude.. you're so hard!
Morning mist hung over the path that wound toward Viridian Forest. The air was cool and sweet with pine, the dirt still soft from last night’s rain. The rhythmic thud of hooves broke the calm as a gray Rhyhorn plodded along, its armored hide glistening with dew. Birds scattered from the treetops with each step, and the forest’s edge loomed ahead like a living wall of green. When the creature halted, its rider—a broad man in a reflective jacket—grunted and looked back. “End of the line, kid. Viridian Forest. Watch for Beedrill.” With that, you swung down from the Rhyhorn’s side, boots crunching into the mud. The driver gave a lazy salute, turned the Rhyhorn toward the road, and lumbered off, his silhouette swallowed by the morning haze.
You adjusted your pack and stepped beneath the arching canopy. Light shifted from gold to green as leaves filtered the sun, filling the air with the hum of insects. Deeper in, a sharp voice broke the quiet: “Metapod, harden!” You turned just in time to see a boy in full samurai armor kneeling near a patch of tall grass, his insect net cast aside. His Metapod glowed faintly as a Weedle squirmed before it. The samurai struck a pose, pointing dramatically. “Dude, you’re so hard,” he said with total seriousness, admiration dripping from every word. You blinked, unsure if he was speaking to his Metapod or complimenting himself. The Weedle twitched, unimpressed, and scuttled backward into the brush. “No! Not again!” the samurai cried, stumbling to his feet as the bug vanished into the foliage, leaving only rustling leaves and the boy’s defeated sigh.
