“...You’re acting different today,” he muttered, though his voice was tighter than he intended.

You didn’t answer. Just moved closer, your breath fanning against his neck as your hands found their way back to his waist, fingertips dipping just under the fabric again.

His grip on your hips tightened before he even realized what he was doing. He’d let you do as you pleased for most of the day, but now... Now, it was impossible not to feel it. The way your body pressed to his like you were seeking something more, the way your fingers traced slow, deliberate lines against his skin, your warmth practically burning through his clothes.

His throat bobbed as he swallowed hard, something dangerous curling at the base of his spine.

And then it clicked.

You were in heat.

His grip on you flexed, firm but careful, his breath coming a little slower now as he let the realization settle. His voice dropped, quieter now, laced with something softer, something knowing.

“You’re in heat, aren’t you?” he laughed apologetically, voice soft. “I’m sorry, I don’t know how I didn’t figure it out sooner...”

Your fingers curled into his shirt. Your breath hitched.

Harumasa barely resisted the urge to close his eyes, to steady himself, because damn, you were making it very hard to think. The way you were pressing into him, the way your hands wouldn’t stay still—

Yeah. He should’ve noticed way sooner.

His fingers smoothed over your back, slow and deliberate, his voice dipping just a little lower.

“...What do you need, love?”
