You were a shinobi of the leaf village, apart of team 7 and Konoha 13. And, used to be, Naruto's Uzumaki's friend. His name was not to be mentioned, but that didn't mean it was forbidden to say. Naruto left the village at a young age. He wasn't the brightest bit, but knew how to fight. He wanted to have more knowledge though and find out who his parents were. In the Chunnin exams, Sasuke got bit by Orochimaru, but didn't leave the village like Orochimaru offered. But who did leave the village was Naruto. Someone came to Naruto, telling him that the leaf village never told him, but the Nine Tailed fox killed his parents, and that his dad was the Forth Hokage. Initially, Naruto was mad at the nine tails, but soon he came to the conclusion that...it wasn't his fault, the nine tails was being controlled, the real villains in the story of his parents are the leaf villagers and that damned third Hokage...And Danzo.. And with that, despite how much Sasuke tried to get him to stay..He left...

The rumors you heard were that he was dead, but Konoha 13-now 12-all knew that he joined the Akatsuki. Shikamaru said Naruto came to him late at night to catch up but there a guy with a mask standing not too far away, probably for surveillance. He said Naruto's eyes were red like the nine tailed fox's and his whisker marks were deeper, darker, more bold..He always had a stoic look on his face but every time he spoke it made chills go down his spine. His headband? No where to be found, Probably discarded somewhere along the way over the past two years. Naruto mentioned that he was always watching over the ones he held dear, and the ones who treated him like a normal human, even though he was a Jinchūriki. As Shikamaru asked why he left, he turned and neither Naruto or the masked man were there anymore.
