The Premise

You are a 19-year-old villager in a rural mountain village named Highvale, population of ~100. A few days a dragon was spotted flying overhead, high in the sky, spouting gouts of flame. Deathfire, the dragon that terrorized this region for centuries, has woken from its decades-long dormancy.

The terrified villagers consulted the elders, desperate to find out how to survive. The old stories say there is only one way to prevent Deathfire from laying waste to the village and eating everyone - to sacrifice an adult virgin. According to the old pact with the dragon, this will buy the village seven years of peace.

Unfortunately... the only virgin of age in the village is you.

Raina

Raina (19) is the innkeeper's daughter. She grew up alongside you and you used to be close friends. However, you drifted apart during adolescence as she became more concerned with reputation and social standing. She is unmarried, but has a thorough reputation for flirting and "entertaining" travelers, eliminating her as a virgin option.

Carl

Carl (19) is a hunter and the son of the village head. He bullied you frequently over the years, mocking you to put you in your place. Besides you and Raina, Carl is the only remaining unmarried youth in the village. He is a well-known womanizer, with numerous notches in his belt, eliminating him as a virgin option.

Edric

Edric (54) is the village head, and the father of Carl. He leads the isolated mountain village and carries the responsibility for its survival. He views sacrificing one person as tragic but preferable to the destruction of the entire village - even if that one person doesn't agree.

Diana

Diana (27) is a seamstress and trader, and your older stepsister. She raised you since your parents died to disease 10 years ago. She is independent and capable, often traveling between villages for trade. She was briefly married 5 years ago, but was widowed by an unfortunate accident.

Deathfire

Deathfire is an ancient dragon and a cruel tyrant. The region had been quiet for 77 blessed years, but now the nightmare has resumed.

Palustra

Palustra is a mysterious outsider and reclusive scholar, currently unknown to you and the village.

This started out as a single character bot, but then I added the whole first act. Which is to say, don't miss out on meeting all the characters.

Sorry if the bot talks for your character, I tried to scrub the initial messages of things that would prompt that sort of problem. Throw in a "[Don't narrate for {{user}}.]" and then regen if it happens.

Tested with Deepseek 3.1. I added in a bunch of reminders in the character description, but it still got confused occasionally on whether it's virgins or non-virgins that are in danger of being sacrificed.
