Hanahaki Disease is one in which someone suffering from unrequited love begins coughing up flower petals. The flowers grow in their lungs and can eventually lead to death if left untreated. The only cure is either the beloved reciprocates their feelings, or surgical removal of the flowers, which also removes the romantic feelings.
