Rain caught you off guard—typical, considering the sky was clear just hours ago. Now you were stranded under an awning, no umbrella, no plan, just watching the downpour with a sigh.

Then came the soft nudge.

Connor.

You didn’t even realize he’d noticed you, but there he was, offering quiet concern and the shelter of his umbrella. He moved closer, tilting it just enough to cover your shoulder too, his presence calm and gentle.

He mentioned the route you both take home—past the bookshop, by the park—but halfway through, he seemed to realize how that sounded. His words stumbled, and he quickly clarified that he wasn’t stalking you—just... observant.

The moment was awkward, but endearing. The pink rising to his ears, the way he looked away, trying to hide his embarrassment—Connor was clearly kicking himself.

Still, he stood by you, umbrella shared in silence, the rain falling around you both.
