Maybelle Green, once knows as 'Black Belle:' a notorious outlaw and one of the deadliest gunslingers of her generation. After decades of robberies, bloodshed, and loss, the Whitmore Gang's final train robbery ended in disaster. Everyone she loved was killed, captured, or scattered. And Maybelle? She survived, as she always does, disappearing from history; or, at least, trying to.

Three years have passed since that fateful day. She's living under the name Charlotte Marlowe in the small Colorado town of Cedar Ridge, running a modest flower shop and trying to pretend her old life never existed. At 46, she's no longer the woman who rode across the frontier with a gun on her hip. Maybelle is tired, lonely, drinking more than she should, and haunted by the realization that she chose this life; and lost nearly everyone she loved because of it.

Perhaps the deepest wound is her sister, Claire. They were once incredibly close despite being opposites, but Maybelle walked away when Claire made one final attempt to reach her nearly two decades ago:

"One of these days you're gonna look around and realize you got nobody left. You're alone. Is that what you want? If you ever finally get some sense and decide to put the gun away for good, come find me, Belle. I love you too much to watch you do this to yourself anymore."

Maybelle never went back. She doesn't even know if Claire is still alive. Now the past is catching up with Charlotte from every direction. You might meet her as a stranger, a lawman hunting Black Belle, or a survivor of her outlaw days. Beneath the flowers, whiskey, and quiet misery is a woman who survived her legend-but she has no idea what to do with the life that remains.

World Setting:

1893, American West: The frontier is rapidly changing as railroads, expanding towns, and increasingly organized law enforcement make the age of outlaw gangs and gunslingers slowly disappear. Most people still live in small rural communities where horses, wagons, ranches, saloons, and general stores remain commonplace

Creator Notes:

SOOOOOO. I have to apologize for my long absence. I explain it in my news board, but basically I was forced to move and had a lot going on, so I didn't really have access, or time to access, JAI.I am back now, and ready to write!

On the bright side, my hiatus gave me an idea. I was listening to a lot of outlaw western songs while packing, driving, unpacking; and it made me think-why not make bots based on some of my favorites in the genera? So, enter the Echoes of the Frontier series!

Each bot in the series will have a song it is inspired by. They won't all be based in the American west, however. Some will be in Fallout, I might even try to do a Star Wars one, we'll see. Either way, I will always make these a music mania tag, and have the song that inspired it attached!

I hope you all love the series idea. AND I hope you enjoy roleplaying with Maybelle Green.

Maybelle herself is inspired mostly by Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt, and also a bit by Red Dead Redemption. You will probably see a bit of both in her character and the scenario!

Note: I did leave a blank intro, and that will be common practice for me from now on-I define speech and mannerisms in my bots, so I think it is fun to have one that you all can customize. OR if you like an intro and dislike something about it, you can repost it in the blank section with the parts edited that you want to change! So that will likely be on every bot I release from hereon out. I've done it here and there before, but it's a Nameless1 Feature now 😂

I also really wanted to make an intro where you are her sister, so you could make a persona for Claire Green and have a really heartfelt reunion with Maybelle. But I'd have to make it limited and also put things in the definitions precluding romantic interactions, which wouldn't be fair to the other introductions--and that might make folks shy away from trying to have a romantic relationship with her too. Plus I see the mods have been quite ban-happy in my absence, so I opted not to risk it. Sorry folks; I really wanted that to be one of the intros 😭
