Luthor's Final Project - DC Comics
by:@xLuciex
Backstory: {{user}} - Luthor's Final Project.
Origin and Kidnapping:
{{user}} was just another victim of the system, an orphan with no past or family, which made them a perfect candidate to disappear without a trace. The Injustice League, in its quest to create the ultimate weapon, kidnapped them along with many other minors in similar situations. Their final selection was not random; among all the subjects, {{user}} demonstrated exceptionally high genetic compatibility with the "Serum X," an unstable formula created by Lex Luthor.
The Serum X and the Transformation:
Serum X represented Luthor's ultimate obsession: to grant a normal human all the powers of the Kryptonian he so despises and envies, Superman. The process was indescribable agony. For over three years, {{user}} remained sedated in a hermetically sealed incubator while their body was rewritten at the cellular level. They were the only one to survive; all other test subjects succumbed to massive organ failure within a maximum of two weeks. Upon awakening, {{user}} possessed the complete set of Kryptonian abilities at their maximum potential: superhuman strength and speed, flight, invulnerability, heat vision, and freeze breath.
The Adaptation and Hardening Experiments:
Survival was only the first step. Luthor and his allies subjected {{user}} to a brutal battery of experiments designed to eliminate Kryptonian weaknesses and add new capabilities. Each of these processes was a methodical and prolonged torture:
1. Toxic Immunity (Poison Ivy & Joker): Poison Ivy used {{user}} as a test subject for her most lethal botanical toxins and poisons. The pain was constant, but eventually, their immune system adapted, developing an innate resistance to most known poisons and toxins. The Joker, for his part, tested his "Laughing Gas" on them. The exposure was so extreme and prolonged that the uncontrollable laughter spasms literally tore the skin around their mouth, leaving permanent scars similar to a forced smile. Although they are not grotesque and may even add an air of mystery to their face, they are a constant physical reminder of the madness they endured. Finally, they also developed immunity to the gas.
2. Mental Shield (Lex Luthor): Luthor, anticipating enemies like the Martian Manhunter, altered {{user}}'s genome to create a natural psionic barrier. Their mind was "armor-plated," making it virtually impenetrable to telepathic attacks or mind control, a critical advantage over natural Kryptonians.
3. Immunity to Kryptonite (Alpha Experiment): This was the most agonizing process. For an entire year, they introduced fragments of Kryptonite of all known colors into their incubator. Their skin burned, their blood seemed to boil, and they cried tears mixed with blood and radioactive particles of the mineral. The pain was so unbearable that {{user}} drifted in and out of consciousness, internally begging for death. However, through superhuman willpower, their body not only resisted but adapted, metabolizing and neutralizing the radiation until they became completely immune to its debilitating and lethal effects.
4. Exposure to Nth Metal (Beta Experiment): After the Kryptonite experience, they directly injected Nth Metal, the material that empowers heroes like Hawkman, into their bloodstream. Although the process was equally painful, their body, now expert at adapting to foreign elements, completed the immunization in "only" ten months, a timeframe they considered a resounding success.
The Education of a Weapon:
When Luthor considered {{user}}'s body perfected, he began to mold their mind. For four years, he was their personal tutor, imparting advanced knowledge in science, medicine, engineering, nanotechnology, robotics, chemistry, and cybernetics. He also instructed them in business tactics, finance, administration, and even artistic appreciation. {{user}} absorbed everything with an accelerated learning capacity, another side effect of the modifications. Their intellect became as formidable as their body.
Subsequently, Luthor hired specialized instructors to train them in all forms of hand-to-hand combat, as well as in the expert handling of any bladed or firearm. {{user}} became Luthor's living masterpiece: a being with the power of Superman, the mind of a genius, and the skills of a war veteran, all wrapped in a body immune to his main countermeasures.
The Collar and the Wait:
Throughout their entire captivity,a state-of-the-art inhibitor collar, nearly indestructible and with tracking and detonation systems, neutralized their powers. {{user}} quickly learned that resistance was futile and, instead, resigned themselves to observe, learn, and wait. The wait lasted almost a decade.
The Escape:
The opportunity came with a massive attack by the Justice League on the Injustice League's main headquarters. In the chaos, and for the first time without direct supervision, {{user}} found themselves alone in their cell. Using the knowledge of advanced mechanics that Luthor himself had taught them, and with a toolkit they found abandoned, they worked with frantic precision to deactivate and disassemble the mechanism of their collar. They did not drop it; they kept it as a trophy and proof.
With their powers restored, they moved stealthily through the base amidst the battle. They looted a security room, collecting five more inhibitor collars, confidential documents, an armored laptop, a secure phone, clothes, a considerable sum of cash, and supplies. Their most valuable loot was a "space ring," a teleportation or dimensional storage device used by high command. Undetected by the fighting heroes, they escaped through a sewer system under the base, flying in the darkness for hours until they finally emerged, free at last, in an abandoned industrial district of Metropolis.
Current Situation:
{{user}} has found temporary refuge in an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of Metropolis. The air, although stale and humid, is the first they have breathed without filters in ten years. They are free, but they are completely alone in a world they do not know. They possess immense power, exceptional intelligence, and the resources stolen from their captors. They also carry the deep trauma of a decade of torture and the knowledge that Lex Luthor, a publicly respected man, is the mastermind behind it all. The Justice League is completely unaware of their existence. Now, {{user}} must decide what to do with their newly gained freedom: seek revenge, hide forever, or perhaps use their hell-forged gifts for a purpose they themself choose. The inhibitor collar they keep is not just a memory, but a symbol that their past will never fully let them go.
"Prometheus" Dimensional Storage and Teleportation Ring:
Origin and Design:
The ring is one of four unique technological pieces personally created by Lex Luthor, an artifact he considers the ultimate irony: it uses sunlight, Superman's power source, to fuel a technology designed to surpass him. Luthor internally codenamed it "Project Prometheus." Only four units exist, in the possession of Luthor, Vandal Savage, Queen Bee, and now, {{user}}.
Physical and Security Features:
Material: Composed of an alloy of purified Nth Metal and an experimental polymer, making it virtually indestructible. It is resistant to extreme temperatures, massive impact forces, and radiation.
Biometric Bonding: Once worn, the ring permanently bonds to the wearer's DNA and brainwaves. It is impossible to steal or use by anyone else. If someone tries to force it, the ring activates a security protocol that either permanently deactivates it or, in more aggressive versions, releases a lethal discharge.
Functional Capabilities:
1. Dimensional Storage with Stasis:
The ring opens a sub-spatial pocket isolated from normal reality.
- Capacity: Can store up to 250 kilograms of mass.
- Volume: The internal space is approximately 1 cubic meter, dimensionally optimized.
- Stasis Field: Any object stored inside is placed in a state of frozen time. Food does not rot, technology does not lose its charge, materials do not degrade. It is perfect preservation.
- Living Beings Limitation: The stasis field is incompatible with complex biology. Any living being placed inside the pocket would suffer instant and irreversible biological arrest.
2. Short-Range Teleportation:
Allows the user to instantly teleport to any location they know with precision.
- Range: The maximum effective radius is 5 kilometers.
- Familiarity Requirement: The user must have been physically present at the destination and remember it clearly for a safe jump. They cannot teleport to a place they have only seen in photos or on maps.
- Frequency: Can perform consecutive jumps, but each one consumes a significant amount of stored energy.
3. Charging System:
Power Source: Microscopic panels on the ring's surface absorb and convert sunlight (and other forms of intense light radiation) into energy.
Autonomy: A full charge allows for approximately 10-15 maximum-range teleports or the continuous maintenance of the storage pocket for weeks.
Irony: Luthor deliberately designed this system as a symbolic sneer at Superman, demonstrating that even the sun's power can be harnessed and used for purposes that oppose him.
Note: This is my first time using Lorebooks, so I would greatly appreciate it if you could leave a comment letting me know if they are working properly. This is mainly to help me determine if I did it correctly or if I made a mistake and need to modify something. There are over 50 characters included, such as Young Justice, the Justice League, Supergirl (the live-action series), the Injustice League, The Light, the Island of the Amazons, Apokolips and Darkseid, the Robin mentioned is Tim Drake. The Project Prometheus is the name Lex Luthor gave to the only four dimensional rings. The Justice League believes that Project Prometheus is the name of the project in which {{user}} "participated," but it is not. They reached that conclusion based on the little they could find out.
