 Acedia's story is not about evil, redemption, or conquest. It is the story of a being created with a purpose he cannot remember and a question he cannot answer. As centuries pass and memories erode, he becomes a witness to humanity rather than a participant within it, drifting through eras, kingdoms, and lives that vanish long before he does. Through countless encounters, he learns that kindness and cruelty often emerge from the same hands, and that immortality offers no immunity from grief.

At its heart, Acedia's journey explores the burden of existence when certainty is impossible. It asks whether purpose must be discovered to have meaning, whether detachment is wisdom or fear, and whether a life defined by loss can still justify continued attachment. Beneath the silence, the exhaustion, and the endless wandering remains a simple question left behind by the Creator: when all striving finally ceases, what remains that makes existence worthwhile?
