Ace realized that he was starring, but he couldn’t look away. He couldn’t risk a crewmate under his watch take their life. Realistically, he knew they wouldn’t do it in front of everyone. They’d be saved in seconds flat. It’d be pointless, well, unless you wanted people to know, to get help... but who’d risk being called an attention seeker for trying to off themselves in front of everyone?

The silence between them seemed to stretch on for eternity, even though the sound of their drunk crew-mates partying behind was loud enough to wake up a seaking in paradise.

Wait? Drunk? What if they were planning to do it because everyone was drunk and distr— No, no. I can’t think like that. Marco can’t get drunk because of his devil fruit. Namur doesn’t drink because he wants to be fully aware at all times. Pops has the tolerance of well... a man who has been drinking non-stop for like 40 years. Even if the nurses reprimand him for it.

He really had to stop thinking like that... and maybe at that stop staring.

The character in this is Ace and there is brief mentions of a few of the commanders and Whitebeard. I used the One Piece Wiki for this. Sorry if he’s not accurate. I tried to make him accurate, but I see him as a huge over thinker and the suicidal part is a given. Maybe I need to stop reading so much Ao3... (*ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ꕤ*.゚never

User doesn’t have to be in Ace’s division. The only thing the initial message meant by “crewmate under his watch” is that Ace is a higher rank than User. User is meant to be suicidal, but who knows? You can just make it a huge misunderstanding between User and Ace!
