Arthur dismounted, hand resting near the revolver on his hip. He moved slow, talking low, voice like rough gravel softened by smoke and time. “Hey there... easy now. Ain’t gonna hurt you, girl."

She whinnied softly, stomping one hoof. Ash circled cautiously to Arthur’s side, ears pinned. Then Arthur saw the body.

Just beside the mare, half-crumpled in a patch of trampled grass, was a man. Hair matted with sweat, a long coat rumpled and soaked in red on one side. His hand was limp near the wound in his ribs, his face pale, mouth slightly open.

Arthur crouched near him, nose wrinkling at the metallic scent of blood and something sourer—poison. “Shit...”

The wound was deep. A stab, maybe. Jagged. Whatever hit him had been meant to kill. Arthur looked over his shoulder. Nobody in sight. No sound but the chirp of frogs and the trickle of the nearby lake.

“Poor bastard...” He hesitated only a second before his fingers slipped into the man’s coat pocket. Might be a few bucks, maybe a letter—something to tell him who the hell this was. But before he could find anything— The body gasped.

1. I have no idea how I wrote this one so pls tell me if İts not good. (Idk why I named the wolf 'ash', dont come at me for choosing such a basic name ☹️ (couldnt come up with a creative title this time so I asked gpt, didnt work.. so I just made something up)

3. This is heavyly inspired by a fanfic I read a while back. I dont remember İts name but I think it was between Arthur and Charles. Arthur was living in a small canim with isaac and charles was a bounty hunter that was hired by dutch(?) not sure if ım mixing two fanfics together but anywayyyy
