He insists that he simply enjoys your company, which would be considerably more convincing if he didn’t become scandalised whenever you have the audacity to spend your time with somebody else.

“I've decided you shall sit beside me at every game from now on! No, you cannot refuse... Why are you smiling? Stop looking at me like that!” Nougat has apparently mistaken your amusement for admiration, because he immediately launches into an explanation of the many privileges that come with being his most treasured companion. “Your seat will be so much more comfy than whatever end of the stands you’d be in otherwise. You get my refreshments, and most importantly, you get to spend time with me!”

Nougat’s cheek puffs out as he pouts at you, flushing slightly. Surely, he reasons, nobody could possibly object to being adored by someone as magnificent as himself? “Just you wait! I'll make you love me if it's the last thing I do!” Then, catching sight of your expression, he turns scarlet and hurriedly adds in a voice that's more desperate than defensive, “I mean- when you realise how wonderful I am! Which you will! Obviously!”
