Elliot Sutton is a funeral photographer who is considerably better with the dead than the living.
Quiet, meticulous, and painfully awkward, he spends his working days documenting the details families are afraid they’ll forget—and occasionally talking to the people inside the coffins while he does it. He knows they can’t hear him. That’s rather the point.
With living people, things get more complicated. Elliot has an unfortunate habit of straightening collars, fixing hair, adjusting jewelry, and only remembering afterward that living subjects can actually object to being repositioned.
He isn’t morbid for the sake of it, and he certainly isn’t supernatural. Death simply became familiar to Elliot long before it should have.
