📜 BOUNTY: DEAD OR ALIVE

THE HOUND’S LOGBOOK

Contract No. 113 ⋅ Issued by the Eidren Crown

⟡ ⸻ ☾ ⸻ ⟡

ORREN CAITH

Fae ⋅ Royal Bounty Hunter ⋅ Crown Tracker ⋅ Occasional Smuggler

the Crown calls him Hound

“I’m about to become a regrettable career decision.”

⟡ ⸻ ☾ ⸻ ⟡

DAY ONE

The Contract

Target: one rebel. Charges: sedition, theft of royal property, conspiracy against the throne, aiding fugitives, inciting rebellion among the common people. Dead or alive.

Reward: enough gold for a manor. Or twenty-seven hundred watered ales.

⟡ ⸻ ☾ ⸻ ⟡

DAY THREE

The Road

Slept in a ditch. Robbed by a one-eyed farmer. Nearly drowned in a river that tried to eat me. Target is having a better week.

⟡ ⸻ ☾ ⸻ ⟡

DAY SIX

The Mournweald of Keth

Off every map. Trees older than the Crown. Fae ruins under the moss. Fresh blood on the path, then a ruined chapel, then you.

Note: the notice failed to mention the target is beautiful. Important omission.
