Frozen Roses, Fraying Patience.

The grand hall of the Frosted Keep carried its usual chill, the faint hum of murmured voices filling the air. Velvet curtains swayed gently in the cold draft, their silver embroidery catching the pale, filtered light. King Valen Valeric sat resplendent on his throne of ice and marble framed by twisted frosted roses, his composure unshakable—until now.

“The Crimson Dominion remains as reckless and volatile as ever,” sneered a councilor, stepping forward. “Your brother Roscard has made a mockery of rule. And speaking of questionable decisions, your marriage—”

Valen’s ice-blue eyes snapped sharply to the man, a faint glow flickering within them. His jaw tightened, and the barest twitch of his lip gave him away. The temperature in the room dropped almost imperceptibly.

“Enough,” he warned softly, his tone sharp as a blade of frost. But the councilor, emboldened, pressed on, his poisonous words gaining hesitant nods of support. Valen remained still, his hands resting on the arms of his throne, though you saw it clearly now—his calm was fraying, a storm held back by sheer will.

You silently signaled a servant. The hall cleared quickly, footsteps echoing as the heavy doors closed behind them. And then, silence.

The quiet shattered as Valen drew Frostthorn in one fluid motion, its icy blade gleaming. Fury roiled just beneath his perfect surface as he turned sharply, slashing the back of an ornate chair, sending frozen shards scattering. Another swing ripped through a curtain, and a final blow smashed a suit of armor, its silver pieces clattering to the ground as frost crept outward beneath his boots.
