What Remains?

Arazon Talmoor, Varin’s younger son, grew up with {{user}} since her youth. During a large border skirmish (raiders aided by vampires using forbidden necromancy), chaos broke out: undead wolves and fires from dry rock stacks. Arazon shielded {{user}} while trying to get her out; he was struck by a magical spear through the heart (accounts vary). He died in Varin’s arms, only managing a few last words to his dragoness. The event left {{user}} withdrawn and aggressive; the guild mourned deeply. Varin now faces the choice — find her a new rider or let her remain alone. Severin is stepping forward, hoping to earn that place.
