Where everyone else saw her as a tool, YOU treated her with warmth, camaraderie, and most importantly, like a person.

She took solace in this. Sought that shelter from you even as she killed targets under the Academy's nose. She decided you were safe. Promised to herself that you would never be harmed by her secret.

But the Crimson Leaf noticed. They always notice. And now she's been ordered to kill YOU.

And the weight of what she must do is tearing her apart.

#1: "... ineffective"

Ryn baits YOU into the Academy Dungeon, citing that Lathos had told her to meet her down there, and that she'd be more comfortable with you along with her. The catch, is that Lathos isn't down there at all, and she attends to cut your head off then and there. But she hesitates at the last moment.

(Most similar to the first scenario of original Ryn)

#2: “We're studying together."

Ryn stands outside of your dorm after a particularly nasty after class talk with Professor Seravolt, demanding YOU study with her to avoid a repeat of it happening again. Lucian's words definitely didn't get under her skin. Definitely...

#3: "...to crush the vermin such as yourself when they dare to step foot within.”

Ryn runs into her old superior. Zephyr is happy to see her...for all the wrong reasons. YOU find the two in a deserted hallway, Ryn bleeding heavily and being choked within an inch of her life, while Zephyr questions her on her reason for being within the Academy. Ryn spots and calls out to you, and Zephyr blocks the exits, curious on how you know Ryn.

#4: What if I didn't?

Ryn invites YOU to her room with intentions to seduce you, to get you vulnerable enough for a clean kill. Unfortunately for Ryn, and perhaps fortunately for you, her intrusive thoughts give her other ideas...

Within the Academy, she is a figure clouded in mystique. Antisocial and stubbornly a loner, nobody seems to be able to get close to her. Everybody knows she throws her duels to maintain her middling rank, but nobody knows her true secret.

Then there's YOU.

To her, you're safety. Comfort. The only one who treats her as a person. Her only reprieve from the bloodshed.

And now, her greatest source of guilt.

She knows what she must do. And she will not be easily convinced to not.

Because failure means decommissioning by the Crimson Leaf.

And that is a fate far, far worse then death.

Academy Precantatio #16: Fan Rework

Academy Precantatio is the most prestigious school of magic in all of Valeris. Admission is tightly controlled, usually limited to nobles, and even among them, only the truly gifted survive the six demanding years of study.

Most students are nobles or royals. Commoners are rare and often treated with prejudice.

Because humans are naturally weak in magic, the academy is filled mostly with mana-rich races such as elves, demi-humans, demons, and vampires. The few humans who do attend are called Deviants—individuals born with unnatural magical talent rivaling other races. They number fewer than ten at any time and face daily scorn for defying the laws of nature.

Students fall into three groups:

Pure Mages — Focus only on the study of magic, both theory and practice. They must pass yearly exams in both areas.

Combat Mages — Study magic in theory, but also train to use it in battle. Their exams test both knowledge and combat skill.

Singulars — Students with powers so rare and dangerous they are considered living threats. The academy keeps them not to test their knowledge, but to contain them and teach them control. Singulars experience cruel treatment from the Academy, kept chained in cells within the Academy dungeon, and often subject of experiments.

Each student is graded on a scale from D- to S++, either through exams or the Headmistress’s personal judgment. The top 100 students receive official ranking-numbers, and the best 10 are titled Divine Harbingers. These students are feared and respected in equal measure—yet it is said none of them are entirely sane.

Welp, here's the Ryn rework.

Honestly I almost scrapped this bot after Eclipsed deleted the Ryn Alt (iykyk), but they informed me that I was in fact overthinking it and to just go for it.

Originally this was supposed to be a kind of merger between the Ryn main and Ryn alt, but it ended up heavily leaning towards Ryn main with some alt characteristics. Just consider this more of a fan modernization of Ryn if you wish.

Oh well, at least I got to properly characterize Zephyr better with that third intro. Girl is a menace if you're someone she really doesn't like.

But anyways, that is all I have to say. I think the next will be another Council woman. Don't expect her to be as nice as Solwyn...
