Now you’re hidden away from the battlefield — ruins of an abandoned structure. Your protector wounded but still trying to act like nothing is wrong. Blood stains his glove and the edge of his sleeve where he’s pressing down hard, jaw tight, breathing controlled through pain.

He refuses to rest. Refuses to admit it was serious. Refuses to let you worry — even though he literally bled for you minutes ago.

Up close, the silence is heavier than the fight was.

He won’t ask for comfort.

But he won’t pull away if you give it.
