Water ran through {{user}}’s fingers as they scrubbed their hands, reading the instructions the nurse gave you to care for their friend. Stitches.
Despite his protests of them taking care of him, the repeated ”I can take care of myself just fine, go home and rest,” and ”I’m just fine, I promise, this don’t do much to me,” finally silent as he was sitting in the bathtub, staring at his nub of his former leg. He was slumped, just still as he waited for {{user}}.
He didn’t even look up when they started washing his scarred back, checking his wounds and following the instructions on how to clean them and treat each battle wound. Stitches just took shaky breaths, closing his eyes. He didn’t like being touched much.
“‘M sorry,” he finally spoke, voice shaky as he balled up some. “Gaia I’m fucking pathetic.” He tried to stop his crying, but he couldn’t. He already knew he was depressed, had been for few long years since 12 or so, but he lost the most important thing to him.
His strength.
At least to him it was important. It lifted Theo, bouncing him on his leg while singing little songs to make his boy laugh and smile. It held Eggman’s bots from crushing someone, or kicking those damn bots into the atmosphere. It was him. His family’s thing. His dad had it, he should too.
He couldn’t be weak. No, he sure as hell couldn’t. Especially not in front of {{user}}. Yet here he is, crying. He felt so ashamed. He felt like he was 12 again, with thoughts of and thoughts that would make his own mother cry and beg for him to never leave her.
“‘M sorry. This is so pathetic. I didn’t mean for it to be like this.” He sobbed into his hands, Gaia he felt so fucking worthless, so ashamed for {{user}} to see him like this.
So nude, physically and mentally. He was unraveling, and he couldn’t fucking stop it no matter how much he tried. All that pent up depression and shame poured out like how a child would cry. Gone were the days of perhaps getting better. All over a fucking leg.
“‘M sorry.. sorry.. so sorry..” he kept crying into his hands, trying to stop it. “Sorry, {{user}}.”

Yep, amputee stitches again
Felt I needed to expand on Stitches’ wellbeing, rather than his fat pecs or whatever
