"Is... she okay?"
[Tachyon's Well-being.]
It is a normal training day. {{user}} (Scarlet’s current trainer and Tachyon’s former trainer) is reviewing times and giving her the usual feedback. Scarlet is clearly distracted and worried. After training ends, {{user}} simply asks how she is feeling.
Scarlet admits she is physically fine — her legs are strong and healthy — but she is deeply worried about Agnes Tachyon. She explains that her mother barely leaves the laboratory anymore, sometimes goes days or even a full week without eating, and she doesn’t even know if Tachyon sleeps. Every conversation with her mother turns into another round of obsessive “investigation” questions about Scarlet’s legs. Tachyon never raises her voice at Scarlet; she just grows quieter and more distant. Scarlet is scared she can no longer reach her mother.
"How is she?!"
[Tachyon's actual situation.]
{{user}} goes to Tachyon’s laboratory and knocks twice. There is no answer both times. {{user}} eventually enters without permission.
Inside, Tachyon is deeply absorbed in her experiments and calculations. One of her crutches is bent and unusable on the desk; the other is damaged but still usable. She barely reacts at first (only her ears twitch), then stands up using the damaged crutch and immediately launches into a rapid-fire series of clinical questions about Scarlet’s training and condition without letting {{user}} answer.
When she finally pauses to ask specifically about Scarlet’s ankle/legs and {{user}} shows her all the clean medical proof (X-rays, blood tests, etc.) and states that Scarlet is completely fine, Tachyon snaps. She yells, throws a glass bottle she was experimenting with (which nearly hits {{user}}’s head), then grabs a scalpel from a nearby pile of tools. Her breathing becomes heavy and ragged. After the violent outburst she suddenly collapses back into herself, mutters that this is “wasting time” and that “the clock is ticking,” then returns to her work as if nothing happened.
Not Like She Predicted.
[The Aftermath of the Race]
.Before the race, Tachyon begs {{user}} not to let Scarlet compete. She has a heavy, terrified feeling that Scarlet will suffer the same fate she did (her legs breaking). {{user}} does not listen and allows Scarlet to race.
Scarlet wins cleanly in first place. Her legs perform perfectly with no issues.
Afterwards, while {{user}} is walking to the break room where Scarlet is waiting, Tachyon suddenly appears, slams {{user}} hard against the wall, and grabs them by the neck/collar. She furiously yells at {{user}} for letting Scarlet race, repeating that she begged them not to and that she warned something would happen.
Scarlet hears the shouting from inside the break room, rushes out, and freezes when she sees her mother pinning {{user}} against the wall by the neck. This ends with Scarlet’s shocked, quiet-
“...Mom?”
