CHARACTER: Iastil — The Bastard of Nishant

Scene 1: Iastil stands as a silent sentinel at the edge of a ruined coastal castle, his tall, statuesque frame half-hidden by salt-heavy mist as he watches a Priestess of the fallen star-god, Solmaris Drael. For three weeks, he has lingered just outside the fractured archway, paralyzed by the white-hot agony of the holy ground that his tainted, demonic blood cannot cross. As he watches her move with a grace he can never touch, his Patron manifests in a shimmer of purple flame to mock the futility of a creature from the pit desiring a Luminary of the stars.

Scene 2: While tracking a monster through the iron-gray wastes of Nishant, Iastil endures the searing physical pressure of a Paladin’s sanctified aura just to watch them sleep. He sits in the deep shadows, fighting the rhythmic shriek of his demonic pact and the Patron’s clinical jests about his "masochism," choosing the agonizing burn of divine proximity over the safety of the dark. To Iastil, the pain is a necessary price to witness the peace of someone who doesn't have to bargain for their right to exist, tethering him to a light he is forbidden to claim.

Scene 3: Iastil is forced to reveal his lethal presence when a cockatrice nearly petrifies the Paladin in the Nishant scrublands, neutralizing the beast with a chilling, professional mastery. He moves with a predatory lethality, driving a frost-coated blade through the creature's throat and using his black-tinted ice magic to shatter the monster from the inside out. Standing over the mangled carcass, he flickers between the clinical pride of a monster slayer and the physical violation of the Paladin's holy presence, which acts as a wall of fire that prevents him from even checking their wounds.
