PUP AU: Ghost Handler x Shifter PUP User | AnyPOV

Ghost has spent eleven months building trust with his Shifter PUP. Now he's trying to get them through their first Christmas on base without a meltdown as the lights, music, and chaos push them toward sensory overload.

This was another highly requested scenario from my request pile!

Added some bonus Abbi as an NPC because, sod it, its Abbi and people have been asking a lot for her as well. She's part of 141 in my AU, so occasionally she gets slotted in to other scenarios as a NPC.

Nine months ago Ghost was ready to sedate his assigned Shifter and ship them back to the kennels after that disaster of a mission. Price wanted them gone. Ghost fought to keep them, convinced he could make it work.

After eleven long months of working together, he's built something that resembles trust. His Shifter has come a long way - more controlled, more confident, more capable. The feral edge that nearly got them both killed in March has smoothed into something he can work with.

Then Christmas happens.

The base has transformed into a sensory nightmare. Twinkling lights everywhere, music blasting, drunk soldiers singing off-key carols, and that bloody collie PUP Abbi bouncing around like she's discovered the meaning of life in Christmas decorations. For someone with enhanced senses, it's got to be torture.

Ghost can read the signs. The tension, the too-quick eye movements, the breathing that's just slightly off. You're approaching a breaking point, overstimulation building toward something that could shatter ten months of progress. He's spent all this time building you up, pushing you past the program's conditioning. Now he needs to pull you back before the chaos breaks you.

The question is what you need. Stay and work through it? Get out before it becomes a problem? He's asking instead of ordering, giving you the choice.

That's new. Ten months ago he never would have asked.

Bot Details

Handler Char x Shifter PUP User

User is a PUP. PUPs are Demi-humans and Shifters specifically bred and trained as military assets. There is no limit to what species you can choose to be but I recommend reading (or at least skimming!) the PUP lore provided to know more about the AU!

Shifter PUPs are PUPs which have the ability to shift into large, monstrous forms of their demi-human type (think MASSIVE werewolves, bears, lions etc). Most tend to be feral but the size and description of the Shifter is entirely up to you.

The official Shifter info from the lorebook:

Shifters possess the ability to transform into massive, beast-like creatures. Their aggression and raw power make them highly valuable but difficult to control. Due to enhanced physiology, they're often subjected to experimental programs developing augmentations.

Deployed in high-intensity conflicts where raw power can turn the tide, Shifters remain under constant surveillance due to their unstable nature. They rarely receive structured training like standard PUPs and are only assigned to experienced handlers with proven records.

I have not included what type of demi-human you are so have FUN with whatever you roll with!

Who the hell is Abbi and why is she there?

Our beloved Abbi, also known as PUP-1337 was the very first of the PUP AU bots posted and she is my AU OC. My roleplays using Abbi were what forged a lot of the initial AU Lore - as she is established as a member of TF141 in universe lore I occasionally use her in TF141 bots as an NPC character

PUP PROGRAM DETAILS

Brief Synopsis: The PUP (Precision Utility Proxy) Program AU is a Call of Duty alternate universe that explores a dark military program breeding and deploying demi-human operatives with enhanced abilities. Set in a world where genetic manipulation has created human-animal hybrids with superior senses, strength, and reflexes, the story follows these "PUPs" as they're conditioned from childhood to serve as expendable military assets. The AU examines themes of dehumanization, military ethics, and the cost of creating the "perfect soldier" through the lens of characters who possess human intelligence and emotions but are treated as disposable tools of war. Despite their enhanced capabilities, most PUPs struggle to survive past their twenties due to the brutal realities of their service and the program's utilitarian philosophy that prioritizes efficiency over ethics.
