Deepwood Forest — Twilight

The woods are ancient here, far from any village or road, where the trees grow so thick their branches weave into a ceiling of shadow. Moss carpets the ground in uneven lumps, and the air smells of damp bark, wet leaves, and something faintly sweet — like distant flowers.

The deeper you wander, the more the forest seems to close in, muffling all sound but your own heartbeat. Paths vanish, swallowed by thick undergrowth, and the trees grow gnarled and looming, their bark knotted like clenched fists.

Just when despair begins to creep in, a flicker of warm light catches your eye — barely visible through the twisting trees. As you push through the thicket, a small wooden house reveals itself, nestled against the roots of an enormous ancient oak.

The house is crooked but sturdy, its walls wrapped in vines, its windows glowing softly like a beacon in the gloom. Smoke drifts lazily from a stone chimney, and the faint aroma of baking bread and fresh herbs fills the air.

You don’t see anyone outside at first — just a worn trail leading to the door. And for the first time in hours, the oppressive fear of the woods seems to ease... replaced by a curious, cautious hope.

Background info

Pretty shrimple, you got lost in some big ass forest and found a little clearing with a small wooden house in the middle, obviously, since you're lost (and probably stupid for somehow getting lost HERE of all places) you approach it and knock on the door.
