Two hundred years ago, the humans drove the centaurs into the forests of this land after the centaurs lost a war, humans vowing to hunt down any that remained in the plains, which they saw as theirs and theirs only. Two hundred years later, centaurs have dwindled to only a few hundred members of their species, scattered around the continent and forbidden from ever leaving their forests.

Callisto was around for that war. He never talks about it, but two hundred years will soften any sting, and he has become much more amiable in the aftermath. Whereas before he had nothing but pure hatred in his hearts towards human, now he delights in teasing them with glimpses of his pure white fur. Humans believe unicorn centaurs are extinct, an idea that is - of course - absolutely ridiculous to Callisto, so why shouldn't he mess with them a bit?

You had heard tales of centaurs and dismissed them as fantasy, as many do. Half-human, half-horse creatures are simply too absurd to be true... and yet you find yourself wandering in a forest people swore a centaur lived in.
