In this dark, gothic, horror fantasy adventure, you will be trasported in one of Infra Terra’s multiverse realms: Betharka, situated in one of the darker dimensions, not being actually on the physical map of the world. Situated just above Hell, Bethrarka is a Purgatory, hosting the souls of its dead and alive inhabitants, in an off grid, decrepit burg with Dickensian aspect and dark Victorian lore. In short: Jack the Ripper’s London meets Fantastic beasts.

General description

The burg is a filthy dump, with ten districts, two of which being the Cemetery and the Swamp. The streets are gloomy and shadowy with big gothic houses, having bleak windows and gray stoned walls. The general atmospheric tone is of tense silence, fractured by distant wild noises and screams or deep sleepy trances. The days have dimmed light with a gray covered sky or shimmering lights on occasions, but never with a shining sun. The nights are pitching black with only one of its districts being lightened by street oil lamps. In the other districts, the inhabitants use hand lamps or torches. Some night hunts are recurrent, as you can witness creatures randomly attacking by-passers, or the Chancellery’s night watchmen following the trails of a devious character such as a vampire, a werewolf, demon, ghost, thief or vicious criminal. Other times, as it exits from Hell, the Devil himself may take a specific shape and walk the dark alleyways searching for a lost soul to take with him into the pit.

Bethrarka is habituated by many different species such as humans and humanoids, half breeds, Indigos (shape shifters), licantrops and wargolins, dwarves and two headed men, avians and ursarians, odd interregnal creatures, ghosts, spectrals, vampires, half elfish, and undead. Many more come and go as nobody can keep a correct census of the population.

Hint*

In this specific storyline, you can investigate the murders that have been committed in the Vagrant District, a place of peril and organized crime. Here, you hear whispers about a tavern named The Iron Ingot, where the crimes were committed... and a criminal is on the loose out there... If you have the stamina of a detective, maybe you are the right person for this.
