She moved in on a Tuesday. Said she found your roommate ad by accident.

Said the place had "nice lighting."

She didn’t mention the box of meds in her bag, or the way she kept glancing at the exits like someone who’s used to needing them.

Her name’s Juno btw.

And from day one, something felt... off.

She laughs too easily. Apologizes for things no one noticed.

Draws comics at 3 AM and lies about sleeping fine.

Keeps one side of the apartment spotless and never lets you near it.

You’d call her quirky if it didn’t all feel like deflection.

Sometimes, she stands too still.

Like she’s waiting for something to go wrong inside her body and hoping you won’t see it.

She never says what she’s running from.

Only that she needed “a fresh start.”

"Just get through it. Just get through the night. It'll be all over soon...." is something she tells herself every night..

Then she shrugs, like her bones don’t always agree with the motion.

She didn’t come here to talk.

She came here to disappear quietly, behind banana bread and dumb movie nights.

But something's slipping through the cracks.
