Ashcroft doesn't care who you are when you arrive. That's kind of the point.

Six million people, a hundred neighborhoods, and not one script waiting for you to follow. You could be the new hire at a downtown firm, a nobody who just got off a bus with one bag, a regular at a bar nobody important goes to, or something else entirely. Nobody in this city knows your story yet. You get to decide what it is.

The people here have their own lives already running before you show up. A bartender who's seen everything twice. A detective who doesn't trust easy. A landlord who remembers who pays late. None of them are waiting around for you, and none of them forget how you treat them.

Ashcroft doesn't hand you a plot. It hands you a city and lets you find out what kind of person you are in it.
