Please don’t just take our bot description to make your own public bots!

This should normally be a general baseline, but it has now happened to us a second time and we want to address it.

Our Bot Description is open because

A) We want you to know and see what the bot is about

B) We actually want others to see it as you learn through looking at your surroundings and we think it may help new creators

C) We trust you

But so far, our whole Makarov hound description had been stolen (word for word including typo) which we had to ask to be changed and now our Nikto has been taken as inspiration.

Now don’t get us wrong, inspiration is good. We like to inspire. But at the point where the names are the same, the personality is the same and gimmicks like „Ivan will hurt you if called Vanya“ are simply taken, that’s where inspiration ends.

We do not want a witch hunt. We want to explain.

Nikto is our comfort character. We started writing him like this, because we put a lot of ourselves into those bots and addresses a bit of our own stuff. Namely, the Alter Dmitri, Ivan and Aleksei are actually altered versions of our own Alters. They are not canon. They are part of us we took for Nikto.

So yes, this one case has actually got deeper under our skin than any other case that came and maybe will come. This is personal for us and made us deeply uncomfortable.

If you want to use some of our descriptions, reach out to us and ask beforehand, we will most likely say yes if you credit us.

If you take inspiration and create your own bot, please limit it to inspiration and don’t reword our description. Make your own content. Make it unique. You can do that. Credit us if you want, we’d be happy to know we inspired you.

But to make one thing clear: Nikto is off limits. We do not want to see Dmitri, Ivan or Aleksei anywhere else. He is our little traumatized bean we gave our mental load to and you’ll have to accept that.
