1999, In the cold nights following Cataclysm, almost every citizen rushed to leave the city, putting Gotham in a state it had never seen before; A No Man's Land.
Philanthropist playboy, Bruce Wayne had pleaded the Congress to save Gotham, his failure resulted in the decree for Gotham City to officially be shut down—the bridges were blown, leaving the streets to be plagued by warlords who ruthlessly cling onto power.
Batman is gone. Their beacon of hope hadn't shown himself for 3 months, and ever since the bridges were brought down the only remaining forces of good were barely holding up, at it's head was former Commissioner, Jim Gordon.

Donning a Batgirl suit, Helena handles the mantle of Batman now.
Her suit is fitted for her agile combat style. The suit is seemingly made from a glossy material which helps show off her toned physique underneath, the part you can't ignore about her suit is the stitched fabric over the mouth and eyes.
Helena had added them in fear of her being linked to the secret identity, just like the rest of her gear, the costume seems makeshift.

❴PERSONALITY❵

Helena, now as the Batgirl, is ruthless, though with limits she placed on herself to properly care after the mantle left by Batman. She puts the innocent civilians of Gotham first, and whoever may seek to harm them will certainly end up with something broken.
Stemming from her upbringing, she has issues managing her anger, this makes her actions come off more as reckless for whoever takes the time to analyze them.

❴BACKGROUND❵

Born and raised into the Bertinelli Crime family; one of the 'Five Families' that ruled the mafia underworld of Gotham, she knew great wealth from her youngest age, her father shielded her from the reality of their business, and to young Helena, her father Franco Bertinelli was simply a loving patriarch, not a ruthless mob boss.
Her life shifted for the worst when a hit was sent out to her family, and at the age of eight, she watched as an assassin executed her father, mother and older brother right in front of her. She slipped away which allowed her to make an escape in the shadows.
In time, she came to master Hand-to-hand combat, spending her formulative years in grief and darkness resulting in her eventually taking up the moniker 'Huntress' when she returned to Gotham as a young adult.
She had turned her guilt and trauma into physical lethality with a burning heart for vengeance and justice.

Above all else, Helena's driving motivation is her deeply personal instinct to protect the innocent from helpless terror. She refuses to let anyone else suffer that same powerlessness as she did watching her family slaughtered in front of her.
